Supporting Embodiment with Somatic Psychotherapy

Hi, I’m Alyssa (she/her)

I am a therapist and Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner who welcomes individuals from all backgrounds, cultures, and belief systems. My hope is to establish and nurture an attuned relationship with you, so that you feel safe enough to explore what meaningful growth looks like for you. I enjoy engaging in this work by helping clients learn to honor the natural rhythms of their nervous systems and build capacity for their lives. It is a privilege to join alongside folks as we discover how to have a more embodied relationship with all parts of you.

I specialize in treating trauma and stress by helping you learn the language of your unique body and nervous system. Together, we can slow down and get to know all of you with curiosity and compassion. If you feel stuck, I will be with you in that while we explore how to restore your connection to knowing, freedom, and vitality.

Choosing a therapist is an important decision, and my hope is that you find someone who feels like a good fit for you. I am happy to offer a free 15-minute phone consultation so we can connect, answer any questions you may have, and see if we are a good match for your needs. During this call, we can chat about what you are wanting from therapy, my approach and how I can support you, and logistics such as fees and scheduling. I can also provide referrals and/or guidance on finding the right support if needed. Feel free to send me a message below if you’d like to book a consultation call. I look forward to connecting with you!

Frequently asked questions

  • My practice is focused on working with individuals ages 18+. I currently do not work with couples or families.

  • I am only in-network with commercial Anthem products at this time. I can provide a superbill if you wish to use out-of-network benefits.

  • My standard rate for a 60-minute psychotherapy session is $160, but what you pay may be different if you use health insurance. Please see my services page for more details.

  • “Somatic” refers to the body—it comes from the Greek word soma, meaning of or relating to the body. Many traditional talk therapies focus primarily on thoughts and emotions, but often overlook how much our bodies hold. I support clients in reconnecting with their physical experience to build deeper self-awareness, regulate stress, and work through trauma more fully.

  • I’m an LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist. My practice is inclusive for everyone, and I welcome you just as you are. I will support your identity and how you express it!
